As you may well know, Stephen recently came through three stages of the Great British Menu TV competition and win with his stunning fish course which will be part of the banquet to be prepared for the worlds greatest culinary experts and icons at the Gherkin tower in London. To see how it all went down, be sure to tune in this Friday on BBC2 at 6:00 pm. (You'll get another chance on Sunday morning at 11:30 am.)

Watch the banquet show - until 22 June - BBC iPlayer

Friday, May 23, 2008

[Update] Stephen's Salmon 'three ways' with crab fritter and cockle popcorn won the fish course and Stephen will be cooking it for the worlds top chefs at the Gherkin banquet.

[Earlier] Tonight's the night, as they say. The last hour long program to decide which chefs are going through to cook the banquet at the Gherkin in London airs at 6pm (BST) this evening on BBC2.

If you've been following the action you'll be aware that Stephen has had a great week with a first place on his fish course and a narrow miss on first place with his main course.

Don't forget that the BBC iPlayer service lets you see the show for up to seven days after it airs. Here's the list (But make sure you watch 'live' tonight):
Monday's Starter
Tuesday's Fish course (hint: worth a watch).
Wednesday's Main course
Thursday's Dessert course

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

So we're midway through the finals week. Showing on BBC2 at 6pm each night, each chef cooks a course each night, Stephen got off to a rocky start on Monday's starter course, his Asparagus dish lost out on the 'flash' factor against the other dishes. We're sure Stephen will brush this blip aside and deliver the goods in the next rounds.

You can catch up with the BBC iPlayer: Monday's Starter, Tuesday's Fish course (hint: worth a watch). The iPlayer shows are available for 7 days. However, you cannot vote other than directly after the broadcast show.

Scoring for the final week is based on the judges scoring and also a public phone vote. If you want to give Stephen your support watch the show when it is shown live and get phone voting. The phone vote is only open during the hour after the show, so you need to be on the ball. The BBC explain here
